Most charities will happily take your sofa — as long as you can get it to them, it is in good condition, and their truck happens to be in your area in the next three weeks. That gap is why perfectly good furniture ends up in landfill. We collect it on your schedule, deliver it to a partner charity, and send you the receipt.

What can and cannot be donated

Charities have to be selective, and their limits are set by health law and by what they can actually resell. Torn or heavily stained upholstery, anything with pest exposure, cribs and car seats that fail current safety standards, and recalled products all get declined. We know each partner’s current acceptance list, so we sort at pickup and route donatable goods one way and disposal the other — you get one visit either way.

Your receipt and what it is worth

You get an itemised receipt from the receiving charity. For US federal tax purposes, non-cash donations over $500 in total require IRS Form 8283 with your return, and single items valued above $5,000 generally need a qualified appraisal. We provide the receipt and the itemisation; valuation is between you and your tax preparer.

Who actually receives it

We work with Goodwill Southern California, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity ReStore and a number of local shelters and transitional housing programmes. Where you have a preferred charity, tell us and we will deliver there instead if they accept the category.

Getting a price

Free on-site quote. You only pay if you say go. We quote on site before anything is loaded, and the number does not change afterwards. Stairs, long carries, disassembly and heavy items are all included. Text a photo to 323-547-5879 and we can usually give you a number within a few minutes.
