San Diego’s older neighbourhoods — North Park, Normal Heights, Golden Hill, Mission Hills — are full of 1910s to 1940s Craftsman and Spanish bungalows with detached garages down long shared driveways and, unusually for Southern California, basements. Those produce genuinely deep estate clear-outs. The beach communities are a different market entirely, dominated by rental turnover and garages full of surf and dive gear.
Canyon-adjacent properties across the city — and San Diego has a lot of them — often mean a long carry from house to street. Beach neighbourhood parking in Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach is difficult in summer, so weekday mornings are much faster. Miramar Landfill and the city’s greenery and recycling centre serve most of the city, with green waste kept as a separate composting load.

What can and cannot be donated
Charities have to be selective, and their limits are set by health law and by what they can actually resell. Torn or heavily stained upholstery, anything with pest exposure, cribs and car seats that fail current safety standards, and recalled products all get declined. We know each partner’s current acceptance list, so we sort at pickup and route donatable goods one way and disposal the other — you get one visit either way.
Getting a price in San Diego
We quote free on site, before anything is loaded, and the number does not change afterwards. Our rates are the same everywhere we work — there is no San Diego surcharge, and stairs, long carries and disassembly are all included.
