What We Take (and the Short List We Cannot)

We take almost everything non-hazardous. Paint, solvents, oil, propane, batteries, asbestos and medical waste are the exceptions.

We take almost anything non-hazardous: furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses, construction debris, yard waste and general household clutter. The only things we cannot legally take are paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, car batteries, asbestos, medical waste and ammunition.

The short list we cannot take, and why

Every item on that list is household hazardous waste, and no junk removal company can legally carry it in a standard truck. If a hauler offers to, they are either misinformed or planning to dump it somewhere they should not — which becomes your problem if it is traced back to your address.

All three counties we serve run free household hazardous waste drop-offs for residents. Los Angeles County has permanent SAFE centres plus mobile collection events, Orange County has four permanent centres, and San Diego County runs drop-off facilities and scheduled events. We will tell you the nearest one when we quote, set those items aside, and take everything else.

Things people assume we will not take, but we do

  • Old CRT televisions. The leaded glass makes them a nuisance and most haulers refuse. We take them.
  • Refrigerators and air conditioners. Regulated refrigerant, so they go to certified recovery. Routine for us.
  • Pianos. Uprights and grands. Most companies quietly decline these.
  • Hot tubs. Drained, cut down on site and gone in one visit.
  • Concrete, soil and tile. Yes, in limited volumes, priced by weight.
  • Tyres. Yes, with the small state-mandated per-tyre fee.

What customers say

My mother had let things get out of hand and I was dreading the whole process. They came in an unmarked truck, never made a single comment, and asked before removing anything that was not obviously rubbish. Took four days and they never once rushed her.

Verified customer Los Angeles

I called about one old fridge and they told me my utility would collect it free and pay me for it. They talked themselves out of a job. When I needed a full garage cleared two months later I did not call anyone else.

Six-person spa behind a narrow side gate. Two other companies looked at it and passed. These guys drained it, cut it into sections and had the patio swept by 4pm. The price they quoted on arrival was the price I paid.
