What Actually Happens on Junk Removal Day
From the first call to the truck pulling away — here is exactly what to expect, what we ask, and how to get the property ready beforehand.
A typical job runs from a same-day call to a cleared space in under two hours, and almost nothing about it should be a surprise if you know what to expect going in. Here is the actual sequence.
Before the truck arrives
We will usually ask what is going (a couch and a few boxes, or a full garage), what floor it is on, and whether there is a lift or stairs involved — not because any of that changes the price once we arrive, but because it helps us bring the right size truck and crew. Texting a photo ahead of time is the fastest way to get a real number before we show up at all.
On arrival
The crew walks the job with you, confirms exactly what is being taken, and gives a firm price before anything is loaded. This is the number that gets confirmed, not an estimate that changes later — it does not move because the job took longer, because there were stairs, or because something was heavier than the crew expected.
While the crew works
You do not need to stay and supervise the whole time. Most customers either wait nearby, keep doing something else in the house, or leave entirely if the job was scheduled through a text-a-photo quote and nothing needs pointing out in person. The crew loads, sweeps the area when they are done, and leaves the space genuinely usable — not just emptied.
What happens to your stuff after the truck leaves
Everything gets sorted, not dumped as one load. Reusable furniture and household goods go to a donation partner, with a receipt available the same day. Mattresses, e-waste and appliances with sealed refrigerant systems route to the specific facilities California requires for each. Green waste is kept separate under the state organics rules. What is left after all of that — genuinely the remainder — goes to landfill.
Payment
Payment happens after the job is done and you have confirmed you are satisfied, not before. We accept card on site, and a receipt is available immediately for anyone who needs one for an HOA, a property manager, or their own records.
