Shed & Structure Demolition
Light demolition of sheds, decks, fences, playsets and pergolas, with the debris hauled away in the same visit.
The Junkiez provides same-day shed & structure demolition across Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. Light demolition of sheds, decks, fences, playsets and pergolas, with the debris hauled away in the same visit.
Light demolition is the natural extension of hauling: rather than you knocking down the shed and us taking the pile, we do both. Sheds, decks, fences, playsets, pergolas and patio covers all come down and leave in one visit, and the site is raked clean before we go.
What we take
- Garden sheds — wood, metal and resin
- Timber decks, stairs and landings
- Fencing — wood, chain link and vinyl
- Children's playsets, swing sets and treehouses
- Pergolas, gazebos and patio covers
- Above-ground pools
- Carports and lean-to structures
- Interior non-structural demolition
Where a permit becomes necessary
Most residential jurisdictions in Southern California let you demolish a small accessory structure — commonly under 120 square feet and not on a permanent foundation — without a permit. Anything larger, anything structural, anything attached to the house, and anything involving utilities generally needs one. We will tell you honestly which side of the line your project sits on, and we do not do work that needs a permit you have not pulled.
Utilities and what is under the slab
Sheds get wired and plumbed by previous owners more often than you would expect, and irrigation lines run everywhere. Before we start we look for power, water and gas at the structure. If we find live service we stop and it goes to a licensed trade to disconnect. Call 811 before any digging — it is free and legally required in California.
Slabs and footings
Removing the structure is straightforward; removing the concrete pad under it is a separate decision. Broken-out concrete is heavy enough to fill a truck by weight well before volume, so we price it separately. Many people leave the slab and use it as a patio base, which is cheaper and often better.
