Hosting a Playoff Watch Party? Get the House Ready First
Playoff baseball season is back in Los Angeles, and watch parties mean people in the backyard and garage that normally stay closed off. Here is what to clear before the first pitch.
Playoff baseball season means watch parties across Los Angeles, and a watch party puts guests in parts of the house that usually stay closed off — the garage, the side yard, the patio. None of that needs a deep clean, but a few things are worth clearing before people start showing up.
What guests actually see that you do not
A normal weekend, nobody opens the garage door or walks past the side of the house. A watch party changes that — coolers get pulled from the garage, people step outside between innings, and a patio that has been “fine for just us” suddenly has a dozen people standing on it.
What is worth clearing before the first pitch
- The garage path to the cooler and folding chairs. If getting to the stuff you actually need means climbing over stuff you do not, that is worth ten minutes before anyone arrives.
- Patio furniture that is more broken than functional. A cracked chair nobody sits in anyway is easier to haul out now than to explain during the game.
- Anything blocking the space where people will actually stand. A grill area, a side yard, wherever the TV and the crowd end up — clear a real path, not just the parts you normally walk through.
The morning after
A good watch party generates its own small cleanout — flattened boxes, a cooler that is done for the season, a folding chair that did not survive extra innings. None of it is urgent, but it is the same category of stuff that is easy to haul out in one trip instead of letting it sit in the garage until next season.
If it turns into more than tidying up
Getting the garage or patio ready for one party is often when people notice everything else that has been piling up around it. If that turns into a bigger clearout, we book same-day across Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, with a firm price quoted on site before anything is loaded.
