Hoarding situations need a different approach from a normal cleanout, and pretending otherwise makes them go badly. The person living there is often being pushed by a landlord, a family member or a code enforcement notice, and every item removed can be genuinely distressing. We work slowly, we ask before we discard, and we do not comment on what we find. On request we come in unmarked trucks so the neighbours have nothing to talk about.

### Where our scope ends

Heavy vermin infestation, human or animal waste, mould remediation and needle contamination need licensed biohazard remediation and personal protective equipment beyond what a junk crew carries. We assess honestly, and where the job crosses that line we bring in a licensed remediation partner rather than sending our people in underequipped.

### Deadlines from landlords and the city

Many of these jobs arrive with a code enforcement notice or a three-day notice attached. Send it to us. Those notices usually specify exactly what has to be gone and by when, and we would rather build the plan around the actual requirement than guess.
